Emily and James showed us a great day at McLaren Vale Sea & Vines Festival last Monday, the "Queen's Birthday" holiday in Australia. The "sea" part of the festival was seafood like oysters kilpatrick and the "vines" were of course excellent wine. Emily, the beloved designated driver, drove us to Richard Hamilton, Pertaringa, and Coriole wineries. While tasting some reds at Richard Hamilton, we learned that the winery's namesake is a famous surgeon, and his brother's winery is right next door. At Pertaringa, our second stop, there was live blues music. It was the best blues band we've heard so far here. There were quite a few dancers too! On the drive between wineries, we saw idyllic scenery. There has been a lot of rain lately and the rolling hills are lush and green. Here is the view from Coriole winery:
