Australia is pretty famous for wine. Well, the weekend before the holidays, the work crowd went down to McLaren Vale. It's about a 30 minute drive south of Adelaide. It's smaller than the Barossa Valley, the really famous place to our north -- but that's about a 1 1/2-hour drive. Here we are at D'Ardenberg just kicking back.

This is the mob at the Coriole winery. Left to Right are: Matthiew (husband of), Pauline -- they are both from Paris & Pauline is a post doc with me, Stacey (in the back & obscured) -- she's a recent graduate who's a research assistant, Vanessa (in white) is the fiance' of, Peter who is also a research assistant. Thanks for organizing, Peter!

BEFORE
Peter was kind enough to bring some snacks along -- and also beer. Good Lord! More booze! Coopers Pale Ale is probably my favorite beer here so far -- AND! they apparently sell it at Central Market in Austin. RECEPTION. YES!

AFTER
I like being a "gent." It sounds very stately. "Yes Sir. Would you like another glass of wine?"

If you get tired of being called a gent, you head to The Bloke Shop. A "bloke" is kinda like a guy or dude. And here they can get traditional bloke wear. None of those fancy clothes. Just workwear and workboots.

Lucky you shipped all your blokewear and gentwear to Oz already. *phew*
